Mr Chris Lubbe

Chris is a TEDx Speaker and one of the most highly sought-after keynote speakers, renowned for his captivating storytelling. With a gift for weaving narratives from his own experiences, audiences leave with hope and courage, long after the applause fades. He is trusted by global brands to deliver presentations and inspire teams to become their best.

Born at a very difficult time in South Africa’s history, Chris made the decision early in his life to become an activist and to oppose inhumane system of ‘apartheid.’ This decision was to put him on a direct collission course with the apartheid regime resulting in spells of incarceration,
torture and near-death experiences.

Following Nelson Mandela’s historic release in 1990 and the subsequent dismantling of apartheid, Chris’s path intertwined with Mandela’s, serving as a bodyguard and contributing to the delicate negotiations that paved the way for South Africa’s inaugural democratic elections. His collaboration with Mandela and involvement in pivotal agreements provided him with invaluable insights and anecdotes, which he shares alongside his personal narrative, imparting essential lessons gleaned from working closely with icons such as Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.
